I am a weak man who happens to be very strong.  I say this not as a brag, but a confession.  I can carry weight.  Like the man said, I can take a hit and keep moving forward.  I can push and strive and do.  This is both a gift and a curse.  I know many people who through force of personality conform the world to their own image.

Not wanting to become the worst version of myself, I have desired to be under authority.  I want to be a part of a tribe.  As we plant Flint City Church, I want to have a crew.  To belong to something larger than myself.  I tried to join up with a few church planting networks, but I just didn’t fit.  So Angie and I have prayed and prayed for an umbrella.  A church that is near us in geography and in spirit.  A people willing to take a chance on church planting on hard soil.  A people who want to bless and give.

Well, God in heaven has seen fit to give us such a church.  Tonight The Rock Church of Fenton has announced their partnership with our fledgling church plant.  They are going to sow resources, people, and brotherhood into Flint City Church.  The Rock staff have already gone above and beyond in helping our young church learn the ropes.

I am a grateful man.  And this night I thank God for this next piece of the puzzle as Flint City Church goes forward.

If you want to hear about the vision and mission of Flint City Church, The Rock is hosting a Vision Night on Thursday, February 4th at 7pm.  If you have felt a pull toward the work in Flint, this would be a great first step.
