Beautiful Feet

"How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace, who brings good news of happiness, who publishes salvation, who says to Zion, 'Your God reigns'.”

When Angie and I went to India, we flew there alone.  It was just us two going to a land we did not know.  People wondered how we could take such a leap of faith.  The thing was, we weren't alone.  First, we had a call from God.  And that call can face the storm.  Secondly, we had an entire network of people behind us.  People praying for us daily.  People who wrote and encouraged.  People who gave small but faithful gifts that allowed us (and still allows us) to bring the gospel to India.  We couldn't have done it alone, and we didn't do it alone.

The time has come for the next great adventure.  Our house in Waterford is sold.  Our home in Flint closes this week.  We are going to begin this dream called Flint City Church.  Now, a church is built on the foundation of Christ.  And then the first level of bricks are the ones who go and tell.  I have had many people tell me that they are interested in being a part of Flint City Church.  So... here we go.  These are three types of partners the new work is praying for.

1) Missionaries

This is the core of the new work in Flint. The sent ones.  These are the men and women who are going to live, work, and/or play in the city of Flint.  They are going to walk the streets and meet the people.  They are going to pray for those they meet and those they haven't yet met.  I am one of these.  But I am not the only one.

2) Pioneers

These are individuals/families who don't live in the city.  But they believe in what we are attempting.  God has put this city on their heart.  We will ask these people to commit a year to this new work.  A year to give their funds.  A year to serve on our Sunday gathering teams (greeter, nursery, etc).  A year to walk alongside.  These people are essential to the success of the new work.

3) Senders

These are individuals/families/churches who don't live in the city, don't want to come to the city, but still believe in the work.  These families will commit to give to the new work financially and prayerfully.  As we are working in a financially broken region, these senders will be enabling our team to do the work they are called to do.  As the book says, "How will they go unless they are sent."  These individuals/families/churches are investing in God's work through Flint City Church.

So... if you are interested in any of these spheres... we are having a vision meeting this week.  If you are interested, email me at ernestoalaniz@icloud.com.  Write "Vision Meeting" in the subject line, and I will send you the information.
